The recent comment from Oroblanco reminded me that I've been meaning to blog about the new book to which he is a contributor. It's called Underground! : The Disinformation Guide to Ancient Civilizations, Astonishing Archaeology and Hidden History. If you like history and ancient mysteries/civilizations, then this book is for you. If you want a regurgitation of what is widely accepted as "history" then you will probably not like it. It is chock full of alternative theories about ancient civilizations, their technologies and origins. Some of the ideas are a bit on the fringe, but for the most part it is very scholarly and backed up by serious scientific research. Keep in mind that at one time, you were on the fringe if you said the earth was round. I'm enjoying the book immensely, and have provided a link (on the left) just in case the whole 2 or 3 of you that read this blog may actually want to purchase it.
Oroblanco's contribution is about ancient Carthage, a subject which has been close to his heart for quite some time. He has blogged quite a bit about the subject at Oroblanco's Cabin. I hope you'll visit his blog sometime and pick up a copy of the book. I understand that he's also working on a novel about Carthage. I'm looking forward to hearing more about that.
Happy reading!
Erika
